Biggest Ash-hole in the West

We finally made the trek up to the blast zone of Mount St. Helens. We went to the Johnston Ridge Observatory.  This spot is named after David Johnston, a USGS volcanologist, who had been watching the volcano and monitoring the seismic activity from this ridge. His last words were "Vancouver, this is it! Vancouver, this is it!" before he was blasted away by the volcano.

It was a humbling and magnificent site.

 It was pretty cloudy so this is the best shot of the mountain. You can see the snow starts right under the clouds.
We saw Bigfoot!

 That's a big foot!!
